Life With Lupus

Blisters on scalp

#1

Am I the only one who has sores on my scalp? I have been to several doctors and it always comes back to lupus related. I have lost so much hair. It is depressing to deal with all the skin problems. Does anyone else have this problem?

I get blisters and sore in my scalp quite often, I’ve told my Rheumy and Dermatologist, both their responses are “yeah that’s lupus related”, but they have offered nothing to help with the issue. It gets quite depressing, hurts like heck and I have not found anything that helps. I wish I had a solution to offer you, but I can relate to what you’re going through.

Happy to hear I am not alone with this problem. My PC Dr gave me this solution, Fluocinonide, which helps some. Usually it takes a round of antibiotics to clear it up. But it always comes back. :(

I get sores on my scalp too. They are so annoying. I usually try to keep scalpicin on hand for them.

Wow! I get small blisters and sores/scabs on my scalp a lot. I didn't mention it to my rheumatologist because I really didn't think it was related to anything. Thank you for the information.

I just finished a round of antibiotics and my scalp is now clear. Until the next breakout. Thank you for your reply, nice to know I am not alone with this problem.

I lost all my hair, but it was due to my hair being brittle from the lupus. The sores and blisters come on my gums and the roof of my mouth though and my Dr doesn’t give me antibiotics unless it’s really necessary because my organs are already under attack. So I just have to roll with it.
